Japan’s leading EAF mill – Tokyo Steel has announced scrap purchase price cut today for all five works upto JPY 2,000/t ($19), SteelMint learned. The company would now pay a price of JPY 42,000/t ($405) for H2-scrap delivered at Tahara plant and JPY 40,000/t ($386) for Utsunomiya plant, effective from tomorrow (22nd Jan’21). Decline in scrap export prices have resulted in price drop in domestic market.
