Japanese steel plant manufacturer Steel Plantech recently deliverd two highly eco-friendly and high efficiency electric arc furnaces (EcoArc) to China’s Benxi Steel, which will enable the latter to produce crude steel of higher quality.
This is the first time that Steel Plantech has supplied seven units of EcoArcs to Japan and other markets. This series of furnaces is specialised in reducing power consumption per unit as compared with other conventional electric furnaces. It reduces the energy consumption and also the emission of carbon dioxide, therefore helping to reduce noise and eliminating white smoke and offensive odours due to exhaust gas treatment.
The order for the furnaces was received in 2019. However, the delivery got delayed due to the pandemic and the harsh environment of -27 degree celcius in China’s winter season.
