Japan’s Steel Exports and Imports Down in Jun’16

According to Japan’s customs data, country’s steel exports have registered a fall of 6% while imports have fallen by 9% in the month of Jun’16 against previous month.

If year on year comparison is done, country’s steel exports are up marginally by 0.58% while, imports have plunged by 11% in May’16 against May’15.

Japan’s steel exports are majorly directed towards Korea followed by China and Thailand. While country majorly import steel from Korea, Taiwan and China.

In first six months of 2016 (Jan-Jun) Japan’s iron and steel exports stand at 20.72 MnT down by 1.75% against corresponding period of previous year. Whereas country’s steel imports in H1 2016 stands at 2.08 MnT, down by 1.89% against H1 2015.
