- Japan’s Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has agreed to acquire a 5% stake in the Casino copper mine project of Canada’s Western Copper and Gold Corporation (WRN).
- With an estimated 27-year lifespan, the copper mine is expected to start production in 2030 and would produce 1.94 mnt along with 216 t of gold annually.
