Japan’s Crude Steel Production up in May’16

According to Japan’s customs data, Japan’s crude steel production surged by 3.52% M-o-M basis and the same stood at 8.80 MnT in May’16. However, country’s crude steel output is down by 0.9% if Y-o-Y comparison is done. Japan’s total crude steel output from Jan-May’16  stands at 43.07 MnT.

Flat Products Output

Japan’s HRC production increased by 6% in May’16, M-o-M basis and stood at 3.76 MnT.
Its CRC output also increased by 9% on monthly basis and stood at 1.55 MnT.

However, country’s plates output registered a fall of 7% and is recorded at 0.81 MnT in May’16.

From Jan’16 to May’16, country’s HRC production stands at 18.46 MnT, CRC output is at 7.65 MnT and plates production is recorded at 0.81 MnT.

Flat Steel Export-Imports

In case of exports, Japan’s HRC export from Jan-Apr’16 stands at 4.28 MnT, CRC export is at 0.87 MnT and plates export is recorded at 0.95 MnT.

Japan’s HRC import from Jan-Apr’16 stands at 0.55 MnT, CRC import is at 0.27 MnT and plates import is at 0.16 MnT.
