Japan’s Crude Steel Production Plunges by 3% M-o-M in Nov’17

According to the data released by Ministry of Finance, Japan’s crude steel output has registered a 3.01% contraction at 8.70 MnT in Nov’17, compared to 8.97 MnT in Oct’17.

However, the country’s crude steel output has registered a marginal increase of 0.93% against the corresponding month of previous year. The same stood at 8.62 MnT in Nov’16.

Japan’s total crude steel production in first eleven months i.e. from Jan to Nov 2017, stands at 95.92 MnT against 96.08 MnT in corresponding period of previous year.

As per industry sources, steel demand in Japan will remain strong amid bullish construction activities taking place for 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and rising production of automobile sector.

Japanese  Steel Export Volume Increases by 4.6% M-o-M in Nov’17
After witnessing decline in  steel export volumes in the month of Oct’17,Japanese exporters managed to increase their export shipments in the month of Nov’17. It has been reported that Japan’s steel exports increased by 4.63% from 3.02 MnT in Oct’17 to 3.16 MnT in Nov’17.

However, there is no major expectation of significant improvement in country’s steel export volumes as the local demand will continue to give support to the steel mills.
