Japan’s Crude Steel Output Up by 1.25% in Aug’16 Y-o-Y

According to the Japan’s latest custom data, country’s crude steel output for Aug’16 is recorded at 8.91 MnT, up by 1.25% against 8.80 MnT in Aug’15.

However, on M-o-M basis, Japan’s crude steel output has moved up marginally by 0.30% in Aug’16 against previous month’s output of 8.88 MnT.

In first eight months of 2016 (from Jan-Aug),Japan’s crude steel production stands at 69.76 MnT, down by 0.88% against 70.38 MnT in corresponding period of  previous year.

Flat Products Output
Japan’s HRC production increased by 1.28% M-o-M basis and stood at 3.89MnT in Aug’16 , while its CRC output also moved up by 1.26% on monthly basis and is recorded at 1.60 MnT. HR Plates production in Japan diminishes by 9.63% and stood at 0.91 MnT.

From Jan’16 to Aug’16, country’s HRC production stands at 29.75 MnT, CRC output is at 12.28 MnT and plates production is recorded at 6.88 MnT.
