Japanese H2 scrap prices in major regions rise by JPY 100/t ($1/t) w-o-w

Japanese H2 scrap prices rose for the first time in Nov’24, according to the Japan Iron and Steel Association. The average price in Japan increased by JPY 100/t to JPY 38,100/t.

• In the Kanto region, prices rose by JPY 200/t to JPY 41,500/t ($270/t).
• In the Kansai region, prices increased by JPY 200/t to JPY 36,600/t ($238/t).
• In the Chubu region, prices remained unchanged at JPY 36,200/t ($236/t).
