Japanese aluminium premium for Q2’25 hits lowest point in five quarters amid weak demand

The aluminium premium for Japanese shipments from April to June (Q2’25) has dropped to $182/t, a 20% decrease from the current quarter, reflecting weak domestic demand. This marks the first quarterly decline in five quarters, down from $228/t in January to March 2025. However, it remains below initial offers from global producers, which ranged from $245/t to $260/t.
