Japan: Tokyo Steel’s scrap purchase price falls to over one-month low

Japan’s leading EAF mill – Tokyo Steel has declared seventh scrap purchase price cut so far in Jan’21. H2 price for Utsunomiya plant has been lowered by JPY 3,000/t ($28) to JPY 29,000/t ($277) delivered at Utsunomiya plant, effective from tomorrow (29th Jan’21). The prices for Utsunomiya have fallen by upto JPY 7,000/t ($67) so far in this week and prices have hit over month low.
