Japan’s leading EAF mill – Tokyo Steel has cut its scrap purchase price today for Utsunomiya work by JPY 500/t ($5). The company would pay JPY 42,000/t ($386) for H2 scrap delivered at Utsunomiya work sited in Kanto region, effective from 11th Mar’21. Japanese scrap export prices seem to have peaked and after seeing bids in today’s Kanto scrap export tender, domestic prices have also come down.
