Japan: Tokyo Steel resumes scrap buying after one month, hikes prices by $15/t

Japan’s major EAF steelmaker, Tokyo Steel, has resumed scrap purchases after a one-month gap. The company has increased buy prices by JPY 2,000/t ($15/t) for all plants, effective 13 Jan’23.
After the final revision, prices of H2 scrap stand at JPY 51,000/t ($387/t), delivered to the Tahara, Utsunomiya, and Okayama plants.
