Japan: Tokyo Steel reduces scrap purchase prices for third time in Dec’25

Tokyo Steel has revised scrap purchase prices effective 25 Dec’25. The last revision was on 24 Nov’25. In the latest round, the company reduces its scrap prices at Tahara and Okayama and remain stable for all  rest of its plants. Post-revision, H2 scrap prices are as follows:

• Kyushu, Tokyo Bay: JPY 44,500/t ($286/t).
• Tahara, Okayama, Nagoya and Kansai: JPY 44,000/t ($283/t).
• Utsunomiya: JPY 43,500/t ($279/t).
• Takamatsu: JPY 39,500/t ($253/t).
