- Japan’s Tokyo Steel has hiked scrap buying prices as many EAFs resume production after summer maintenance and amid strong global cues.
- The company has increased bids for H2 scrap by up to JPY 2,000/t ($15/t) for all of its plants, effective 30 Aug.
- Post adjustment, bid prices for H2 scrap are at JPY 47,000/t ($339/t) delivered to the Tahara plant and Utsunomiya works.
