Japan: Tokyo Steel hikes prices by up to JPY 3,000/t ($24/t) for May sales

Tokyo Steel, Japan’s largest EAF steelmaker, has raised monthly steel prices by up to JPY 3,000/t ($24/t) for May, 2022 sales. The need to pass on the increased cost of production has been the major driver of the price hike.

  • HRC prices were revised upwards to JPY 123,000/t ($966/t)
  • Rebar and H-beam prices were raised to JPY 102,000/t ($805/t) and JPY 124,000/t ($971/t)* respectively.
