Japan: Tokyo Steel further cuts scrap buying prices by JPY 500/t ($3/t)

Tokyo Steel has reduced domestic scrap procurement prices for the fifth consecutive time in September, effective from 10 Sep’24, with a total drop of JPY 2,000/t ($14/t) till now. Prices are now at:

• Tahara, Okayama, Kansai, and Kyushu plants: JPY 44,000/t ($307/t).
• Takamatsu, Utsunomiya plants: JPY 43,000/t ($300/t).
• Nagoya plant: JPY 42,500/t ($297/t).
