Japan: Tokyo Steel cuts scrap purchase prices by JPY 500/t ($3/t)

Tokyo Steel has announced another scrap purchase price revision for first time in Jul’25, effective 3 Jul’25. In this latest round, the company reduced prices by JPY 500/t ($3/t) at its Tahara, Nagoya, Okayama, Kansai, and Takamatsu plants. Post-revision, H2 scrap prices are as follows:

• Tahara: JPY 40,500/t ($281/t)
• Nagoya: JPY 40,000/t ($278/t)
• Okayama: JPY 40,000/t ($278/t)
• Kansai: JPY 40,000/t ($278/t)
• Takamatsu: JPY 38,000/t ($264/t)
