Japan: Tokyo Steel cuts scrap purchase prices by $7/t for H2 grade

  • Tokyo Steel, Japan’s largest EAF steelmaker, has cut scrap purchase prices for the sixth time in Jun’22.
  • The company has trimmed bids by JPY 1,000/t ($4/t) for all its steelworks, effective 22 Jun.
  • Post revision, the bid prices for H2 scrap are at JPY 55,000/t ($407/t) for Tahara works and JPY 54,000/t ($400/t) delivered to the Utsunomiya plant.
