Japan’s leading EAF mill – Tokyo Steel has lowered the scrap purchase price for two major works by JPY 500/t ($5). The company would now pay JPY 41,000/t ($377) and JPY 40,500 ($372) for H2 scrap delivered at Tahara and Utsunomiya works respectively. However, prices for the other three works have remained unchanged. Notably, this is the company’s seventh price revision made so far in Mar’21.
