Japan: Steel billets exports rise 15%, m-o-m, in Feb’22

Japan’s steel billets exports rose significantly by 15.56% in Feb’22 to 0.24 mnt compared to 0.21 mnt in Jan’22, as per recent data by customs.
South Korea was the largest importer at 0.11 mnt, followed by Taiwan and Thailand at 0.07 and 0.06 mnt, respectively.
However, export volumes fell marginally by 4% y-o-y to 0.45 mnt as against 0.47 mnt in Jan-Feb’21.
