Japan: Steel billet exports stable, m-o-m, in April

Japan’s steel billet exports remained stable m-o-m in Apr’22 at 0.22 mnt, as per customs data.
Taiwan was the largest importer at 0.10 mnt followed by South Korea and Thailand at 0.05 mnt and 0.04 mnt, respectively.
However, export volumes decreased by 12% on the year to 0.89 mnt in Jan-Apr’22 as against 1.02 mnt in the year-ago period.
