Japan: Nippon Steel to reline blast furnace at Nagoya Works

Nippon Steel has decided to reline the blast furnace No. 3 at its Nagoya Works in Japan. The construction period will span about 130 days, with the BF expected to be reignited in early Jun’22. During the renovation period the company’s production will temporarily decrease, but stable supply will be maintained. The relining is expected to increase the furnace volume to 4425 cubic metres, with approximately 4.5 mnt of annual production.
