Nippon Steel Corporation announced that it will raise H-beams prices by JPY 5,000/t ($39/t) for April deliveries. This is the third consecutive month of price hike, totalling JPY 15,000 ($117). The price increase was based on comprehensive consideration of supply and demand trends and rising raw materials costs. Demand is strong for re-development projects and logistics warehouses, according to the company’s plate and construction materials sales department.
