Nippon Steel raised prices of steel plates for use in building material projects by JPY 20,000/t ($156/t) for new orders in May’22. Costs have been rising sharply due to soaring prices of raw materials, resources and energy. The company will implement price hikes for two consecutive months, following the JPY 10,000/t increase for Apr deliveries.
