Japan’s largest stainless steel producer, Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Corp., has increased prices of 300 series stainless CR coils and plates by JPY 25,000/t ($220/t) and 400 series coils by JPY 15,000/t ($132/t). Increasing alloy surcharges and base metal prices have led to a hike in production costs. Additionally, the costs of logistics, ferro alloys and auxiliary materials have increased.
