Japan’s Kanto Tetsugen ferrous scrap tender for September concluded with 15,000 t of H2 scrap awarded to Bangladesh via a Japanese trading firm at JPY 41,970/t ($285/t) FAS, up JPY 82/t($1/t) from August. The equivalent FOB price is estimated at around $295/t. The JPY-USD exchange rate remained largely stable (147.4/$ on 10 September vs. 147.6/$ on 9 August), which kept up the dollar value rise by less than $0.3-0.4/t.
