Japan: JFE to raise steel bar, rod prices by over $150/t

JFE Steel will raise the prices of all types of steel bars and wire rods (including semi-finished products) by JPY 20,000/tonne (t) ($153/t) for both domestic sales and export contracts in May’22. The price hike is due to the soaring prices of coking coal, silicon, manganese, ferroalloys and energy costs. The company will consider further price hike depending on future trends.
