JFE Steel, Japan’s second-largest steelmaker, registered 5.68 mn t crude steel output in Q2 FY’21, compared to 5.09 mn t in the previous quarter. During the first half of FY’21, it produced 10.77 mn t, higher than its previous forecast for H1. Japan’s domestic steel demand is expected to recover after bottoming out in Apr-Jun’20 amid recovery from auto sector, company mentioned in its press release.
