Japan imposes 95% anti-dumping duty on Chinese graphite electrodes

The Japanese cabinet has recently decided to impose a 95.2% provisional anti-dumping duty on graphite electrodes from China for four months starting from 29 Mar’25, citing unfairly low prices harming local manufacturers. The decision follows a year-long investigation and complies with World Trade Organization rules. If a final review confirms dumping, an additional levy may be imposed for up to five years.
