Japan the second largest steel-making nation has witness increase in flat steel export volumes by 16% on monthly basis in Jan’18.
According to latest customs data released,Japan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC), rose sharply by 16% on monthly basis in Jan’18 as compared to Dec’17. The country exported 2.51MnT of flat steel in Jan’18 as compared to 2.17 MnT in Dec ‘17.
In Jan’18 nation’s crude steel output increased by 4%,M-o-M basis to 9.03 MnT in Jan’18 against 8.72 MnT in Dec’17.
On yearly basis country’s flat steel exports recorded the increase of 17% in Jan’18 against 2.14 MnT in Jan’17.

Country Wise Japan Flat Steel Exports in Jan ‘18 – China stood as the largest flat steel importer from Japan,occupying share of 17% and stood at 0.36 MnT in Jan’18.
Second largest flat steel importing nation from Japan was Thailand which stood at 0.36 MnT (accounted for 16.6% of share in Japan flat steel exports),followed by South Korea at 0.28 MnT (contributes 13.24% of share) Vietnam at 0.19 MnT (occupied 9% of share) and Mexico at 0.13 MnT ( accounted for 6.27% share).
Also nation’s flat steel exports to India stood at 0.06 MnT, down 14% M-o-M.
