Japan: Flat steel exports rise 13% m-o-m in May

Japan’s flat steel exports stood at 2.31 mnt in May’22, up 13% compared to 2.04 mnt a month ago. HRCs and plates held the largest share of exports at 1.33 mnt, followed by electrical steel at 0.53 mnt and galvanised steel at 0.19 mnt. Thailand, China and South Korea were among the top importing countries. During Jan-May’22, exports rose 2% to 10.36 mnt against 10.11 mnt CPLY.
