According to latest customs data released, Japan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils),7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) stood at 1.97 MnT in Nov’18 shrink by 6% M-o-M basis against 2.1 MnT in previous month.
However on yearly basis nation’s flat steel import volumes reduced by 5% in Nov’18 against 2.08 MnT in Nov’17.
During first eleven months of Jan-Nov’18, nation’s flat steel exports stood at 22.5 MnT fell by 3% which was 23.19 MnT in same time frame of previous year.
As per METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) steel demand in Japan will likely to remain slow in third quarter (Oct-Dec’18).It is anticipated that steel demand is likely to remain steady in construction sector.However nation’s steel exports is expected to remain flat in this quarter.

Country-wise Japan Flat steel Exports in Nov’18-Thailand remained the largest flat steel importer of Japan with 0.39 MnT in Nov’18 down by 5% against 0.41 MnT in Oct’18.
Second largest importer China procured 0.37 MnT in Nov’18 lower by 5% as compared to 0.39 MnT in previous month.
Third largest importer was South Korea at 0.27 MnT for Nov’18 fell by 4% against 0.28 in Oct’18.
Meanwhile Vietnam stood at 0.17 MnT which remained stable since past two months.
Followed by Mexico at 0.13 MnT,Indonesia at 0.14 MnT,Malaysia at 0.08 MnT,India at 0.05 MnT and Bangladesh at 0.03 MnT in Nov’18.

sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) stood at 0.36 MnT in Nov’18 plunged by 10% M-o-M against 0.4 MnT in previous month.
However on yearly basis the same went down by 5% in Nov’18 against 0.38 MnT in Nov’17.
During first eleven months of Jan-Nov’18, nation’s flat steel imports stood at 3.72 MnT fell by 9% which was 4.07 MnT in same time frame of previous year.
Country-wise Japan flat steel imports- South Korea,Thailand and China are the major flat steel exporters of Japan in Nov’18.
