Japan: Ferrous scrap exports drop 22% on month in Jul’21

Japan has registered a drop of 22% m-o-m in ferrous scrap export volumes in Jul’21. The country exported 0.57 mn t of scrap in Jul as against 0.73 mn t in Jun, according to data compiled by SteelMint.
South Korea was the largest importer at 0.30 mn t in Jul followed by Vietnam and China at 0.16 mn t and 0.04 mn t, respectively.
On a yearly basis, exports dropped by 19% from 0.70 mn t in Jul’20.
