Japan’s ferro chrome imports increased by a whopping 166% m-o-m to 87,805 t in Jun’22 from 33,046 t in May’22. Imports increased as a result of a rise in special steel production in the domestic market. Major exporting countries were Kazakhstan (32,390 t), South Africa (36,252 t), Russia (7,853 t) and India (5,648 t). In Jan-Jun’22, imports were up by 7% y-o-y 340,395 t.
