Japan: Ferro chrome imports down 29% y-o-y in CY’22

Japan’s high carbon ferro chrome imports fell by 9% y-o-y to 617,135 t in CY’22 in comparison with 678,293 t in CY’21, as per Customs data.
Kazakhstan was the largest exporter at 255,853 t followed by South Africa at 191,183 and India at 63,059 t in CY’22.
However, ferro chrome imports stood at 40,976 t in Dec’22, up by 5% m-o-m compared to the same period last year.
