According to the Japanese customs, the country has witnessed a marginal decrease of 5% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.
In Nov’17, Japan imported a total of 0.2 MnT Ferro Alloys against 0.21 MnT in Oct’17. However, on yearly basis, there has been an increase of 33% as Japan imported 0.15 MnT in Nov’16.
In Nov’17, Japan imported 0.06 MnT of Ferro Chrome, 0.04 MnT Ferro Silicon, and 0.10 MnT Manganese Ore. Japan registered a substantial increase of 25% M-o-M in its Manganese Ore and a decrease of 25% in Ferro Chrome imports. However, the import volume of Ferro Silicon remained stable in M-o-M basis.

South Africa remained the largest exporter of Ferro Alloys to Japan at 0.10 MnT, witnessing an increase of 11% M-o-M. Kazakhstan was the second largest exporter to Japan at 0.03 MnT while Australia followed with an export volume of 0.02 MnT to Japan in Nov’17.
