On June 14, Japan Electrolysis Co., Ltd. signed an MoU with India’s Hindalco Industries to collaborate on copper foil production for lithium-ion batteries. Japan Electrolysis will provide technical support and transfer equipment, while Hindalco plans to start manufacturing copper foil domestically. Hindalco will pay $10 million (approximately 1.65 billion yen) for the equipment and technology license.
