According to preliminary customs data, Japan’s crude steel output increased by 8% M-o-M basis, that is 9.05 MnT in Oct’16 compared to 8.4 MnT in Sep’16.
On yearly basis country’s crude steel production registered marginal growth of 0.44% in Oct’16 against last year. In Oct’15 the crude steel output was assessed at 9.01 MnT.
In CY16 from Jan-Oct, Japan’s crude steel output stands at 87.21 MnT, down by 1.1% against 88.18 MnT in corresponding time frame of previous year.
Flat Products Output
Japan’s HRC production moved up 2.7% M-o-M basis to 3.7 MnT in Oct’16 whereas its CRC output continues to remain stable at 1.5 MnT.
Meanwhile plates output in Oct’16 rose significantly by 13% to 0.9 MnT in Oct ‘16 as compared to 0.8 MnT in Sep’16.
