Japan: Crude Steel Output Up 3% in Jan’17

According to preliminary customs data, Japan’s crude steel output rose by 3.4%, M-o-M basis, that is 9.0 MnT in Jan’17 compared to 8.7 MnT in Dec’16.

On yearly basis country’s crude steel production increased again by  3.4% in Jan’17 against last year. In Jan’16 the crude steel output was assessed at 8.7 MnT.

However, in CY16 from Jan-Dec, Japan’s crude steel output stands at 104.51 MnT, down by 0.9% against 105.51 MnT in corresponding time frame of previous year.

Japan’s Flat Products Output in Jan’17 –
Japan’s HRC production increased by whopping  8.3%  at  3.9 MnT ,M-o-M  basis in Jan’17 against 3.6 MnT in Dec’16.Whereas its CRC output also surged by 6.6% to 1.6 MnT in Jan’17 against 1.5 MnT in Dec’16.

Meanwhile plates output remained stable since last two months and stood at 0.7 MnT.
