Japan: Bids in Kanto Tetsugen scrap export tender shoot up by $58 m-o-m in Jan

Kanto Tetsugen-Japan’s monthly ferrous scrap export tender for Jan’21 was concluded today. A total of around 15,000 t of Japanese H2 scrap was awarded at an average price of JPY 44,751/t ($432) FAS, rising by JPY 6,041/t ($58) m-o-m, SteelMint learned from its trade channels. Successive scrap price hikes in the Japanese domestic market along with active buying from Bangladesh, Vietnam and China, have continued to keep scrap export prices on the higher side.
