Japan’s imports of secondary aluminium alloy ingots (ADC12) rose to 94,020t in Apr’25, up 37% y-o-y and 15% from March, driven by recovering demand in the automotive sector. In contrast, March imports had dropped 13% m-o-m to 81,559 t amid softer domestic demand. Primary aluminium imports also climbed 38% y-o-y to 105,853 t in April, while domestic aluminium product output rose 2.5% to 145,081t, according to official data.
