Ukraine Billet Exports Gain 10% in Jan’18

In the first month of CY18, Ukraine has exported about 654,597 MT Billet, according to trade statistics released by Department State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The exports registered a gain of 10.16% in Jan’18 against 589,860 MT in Jan’17. During Jan’18, Italy has imported approximately 29% (189,200 MT) billets from the Ukraine, which is 18% higher than Jan’17.

The nation’s monthly exports for Billet are almost firm in January 2018, which is being similar from the last month of 2017.

The crude steel production of Ukraine was 2,100,000 MT in Jan’18 and in Jan’17 it was approximately 2,103,000 MnT. While in Dec’17 it was at 2,060,000 MT.

USA stands out to be the largest importer of Ukrainian pig iron, importing 126,421 MT in Jan’18, followed by Italy (37,336 MT) & Turkey (35,291 MT).

The export offers of steel grade Pig Iron are assessed at USD 390-395/MT FoB Russia, USD 385-390/MT FoB Brazil & at USD 385-395/MT FoB India.

Presently, the export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet are at USD 525-535/MT FoB India, 125*125 3SP at USD 525-535/MT FoB Ukraine & 150*150 Q235 are at USD 505-515/MT FoB China.

As per sources, a deal of 50,000 MT Ukraine-origin pig iron heard to have sold to US in last week at USD 415/MT CFR, which was similar to USD 395/MT FoB Black sea
