Italy’s Flat Steel Imports Up 6% in Sep’16

As per the provisional data released by Italian customs, Italy’s flat steel imports have increased by 6% in Sep’16 to 0.84 MnT as compared to previous month.In Aug’16 the same stood at 0.79 MnT.

If yearly comparison is done, then country’s flat steel imports registered a significant fall of 20% in Sep’16 against 1.05 MnT in Sept’15.

During the period of first nine months (Jan-Sep) of 2016 nation’s flat steel imports registered a fall of 5.5% to 8.14 MnT against 8.62 MnT in same time period of previous year.

Grade-wise Imports
In Sep’16, 7208 (HR coils/Plates) imports rose by 24%,Y-o-Y basis to 0.58 MnT against 0.47 MnT in Sep’16.Whereas 7209 (CR coils) have increased by 38% in Sep’16 against last year.

Top 5 flat steel Importing countries
In Sep’16 the foremost buyer of Italy’s flat steel was Germany which imported 0.13 MnT of flat steel followed by France,China , Russia and India.
