According to the latest customs data, Italy flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212(GP/GC) have increased on monthly basis by 7% in Oct’16 to 0.9 MnT against 0.84 MnT in Sep’16.
If yearly comparison is made, then Italy’s flat steel imports moved down by 5% in Oct’16 against previous year. In Oct’15 the same stood at 0.94 MnT .
In the duration of ten months (Jan-Oct) of 2016, Italy flat steel imports witnessed the downfall of 5.4% to 9.04 MnT against 9.56 MnT in the same time period of previous year.
Grade-Wise Italy’s Flat Steel Imports-
As per grade-wise analysis , 7208 imports rose considerably by 19.04% M-o-M in Oct’16 against Sep’16 whereas 7209 surged by 3.43% in Oct’16 against previous month. Although, other flat steel grades imports like 7225, 7212 and 7210 declined in Oct’16 as compared to Sep’16.

Country-Wise Italy Flat Steel Imports in Oct’16
Germany stood as the major flat steel exporter to Italy and exported 1,42,453 MT in Oct’16 against 1,32,381 MT of flat steel in Sep’16.Other major countries include France, Korea followed by Russia and Slovakia.
