In comparison to last week, Iron Pellets buying activities have come down from the beginning of the current week and prices across the country have not witnessed any upward movement.
Reduction in iron ore lumps prices by NMDC has impacted the sales of Iron Pellets. Sponge iron manufacturers are preferring to buy iron ore lumps instead of Iron Pellets but it is not feasible for a large number of users to buy the material from NMDC.
Pellets users are not ready to make purchases at current prices and are waiting for reduction in offers.
“We are not received any bookings at Rs 9,500/MT (Basic) as buyers are expecting offers to be made below Rs 9,000/MT”, said a senior official at Sarda Energy and Minerals Ltd in Raipur.
