As per sources, Raipur based sponge manufacturers have bought approx 50,000 MT pellets from a Raipur based pellet maker at INR 5,000/MT (ex-works) in single deal. Present prices are hovering at INR 5,100-5,150/MT ex-works.
The source who has procured this information confirmed that material is to be lifted within 1 month from date of order (i.e. 18 Aug’15). There are approx 6-7 sponge units involved in the deal. Pellet offers from Odisha to Raipur are approx INR 5, 150/MT FOR plant. Manufacturers also commented that pellet prices have bottomed out and we don’t expect iron pellet prices to touch this level once DMF (District Mineral Fund) comes in place.
Pellet prices in central India have shown a marginal fall of INR 100/MT this week. Prices have fallen over falling prices of semi finished products. P-DRI (80 FeM) prices have fallen by INR 300/MT W-o-W to INR 13,200/MT (Ex-Raipur).
- Pellet prices in eastern India remain stable with some pellet makers keeping their sales on hold
- Durgapur pellet prices for Fe 63% are in the range of INR 4,600-4,900/MT (basic)
- Pellet prices in Jamshedpur are at INR 4,200-4,300/MT. And in Jharsuguda prices are around INR 4,800/MT (basic)
- At Bellary, prices for Fe 63/62% pellets are at INR 4,900/MT (basic)
