Pellet manufacturers have been seen lowering prices in order to book sales.
Pellet manufacturers in eastern India have been seen lowering their offers in order to book sales. Despite prices have been lowered, strong bookings are still not seen.
1. Durgapur based pellet manufacturer sold pellets (Fe 63%) at INR 4,200/MT ex works. Viability of sponge makers to purchase pellet from Odisha vanished completely as Odisha pellet offers remain stable at INR 3,700-3,900/MT and railway freight is approx INR 1,000-1,200/MT.
2. Chhattisgarh based sponge maker purchased iron pellets from Odisha based pellet manufacturer at INR 3,700/MT (ex-works) and INR 4,850/MT FOR landed. In Raipur, pellet offers are around INR 5,000/MT (basic)
3. Raigarh based pellet manufacturer Monnet Ispat started production in trial phase. Sources say plant is operating under trial period and is presently consuming its production. It might start sales in merchant market from Nov-Dec’15. The pellet maker has a capacity of 2 MnT pa.
