Iron Pellet manufacturers located in Barbil (Odisha) maintain offers more or less in the same range for the current week, at levels similar to the week before.
“We are holding on the prices as it is not feasible to sell the material at cheaper rates.
Manufacturers had in a situation of panic cut offers continuously the last week.
Though, Pellet prices are under tremendous pressure, few orders in hand, resulted in no price movement for the present week”, said Iron Pellet manufacturers based in Barbil.
Prevailing Pellet Prices (Rs/MT):
Barbil: 6,400-6,600, Down by 100
Keonjhar: 6,100-6,500, Down by 200
Jharsuguda: 6,500, Down by 300
Ex works Prices
“Basically, the situation is kind of watch-wait and buy what is required, which buyers have been following in the last few weeks.
No infrastructure activities have created pressure on Sponge iron prices, which have ultimately pushed Iron ore and Iron Pellet producers to lower offers.
We are waiting to see the alteration in Iron ore prices in the beginning of July, upon which Pellet prices change would ultimately depend”, they added.
Offers are expected to meet with some more correction next month as Brahmani River Pellet Limited (BRPL) is to start its 4.5 MnT Pellet plant this week itself and might offer the material at Rs 7,000/MT (ex works)”, said industry sources.
