Iron pellet prices move up on scarcity of Iron ore in India. Prices have jumped by Rs 300-500 in last few days.
There is acute shortage of Iron ore in the country, where Karnataka is closed for past few months, Goa is on the verge of closure and in Orissa major mines are non operation due to forest clearance and other legal formalities.
Major factors which have impacted the prices are
1) Sky rocketing sponge iron prices
2) Shortage of Iron Ore
3) Price hike by Orissa Mining Corporation
4) Expected prices hike by private miners
