NMDC dispatched 182 rakes of iron ore from its Bailadila mines in Chhattisgarh in June’15.
Iron ore dispatches from NMDC, India’s largest iron ore producer, has witnessed a significant drop in June’15. RINL, a major buyer of iron ore from NMDC (Chhattisgarh) also reduced its purchases and loaded 103 rakes in June’15, against 138 rakes in May’15.
Iron ore procurement of JSW Steel, Dolvi, fell drastically by 80% M-o-M. JSW Steel loaded only 6 rakes in June’15 against 30 rakes in May’15. Iron ore purchases by Chhattisgarh based units has also fallen by 28 % M-o-M.
NMDC’s iron ore production fell by 16% and sales by 21% in first two months of FY16 as compared to the same period in FY15. The company produced 4.14 MnT iron ore in first two months of FY16 while sales stood at 4.54 MnT in the same time period.
NMDC sold 0.55 MnT iron ore via Karnataka e-auctions in June’15, while its export remained nil. Later in the month, Indian government renewed its long term trade agreements, following which, company’s iron ore exports are expected to move up.
Post reduction of prices by Odisha merchant miners and declining sales, NMDC might also reduce iron ore prices for July deliveries.
